We spent the next several days indoors due to "bad weather". Which wasn't actually bad weather, it was pollution. The pollution rating was so high, that they issued an advisory for everyone to just stay home for a while, and since we had just gotten back to Beijing and were tired anyway....
So we holed up in this apartment for a few days, waiting for the smog to break. We had one last place we really wanted to go, but didn't want to go if breathing out-of-doors was going to make us sick.
One nice thing about staying home was that we got to enjoy our own cooking. We had bought these wontons, and made soup out of them. It was delicious. We also made jao-tse, and oodles of rice (you totally thought I was going to say noodles there didn't you. DIDN'T YOU.)
We also indulged in the joy that is eating pomelos. Bea and I make eating a pomelo a long, drawn-out production, where we peel it, and then break it into sections, and then peel each section and eat *only* the juicy goodness that is underneath all that pith.
Finally we were bored enough, and all the laundry was done, so we decided to take on a project. We put on a movie, and I braided Bea's hair. A nice change for her for a few days!
