I just got home two days ago from a volunteer expedition to Ethiopia with 5 teenagers (15-18 years old). It was our Global Youth Expedition, and this year I was the team leader.
We had a wonderful time. ^_^ And I got some great pictures. Here are a few from our very first day of visiting the education support centers. Our first center was in Kality. 70 kids, Grade 3 and younger. They are a very energetic bunch!
We did an art project with the kids - big long strips of paper, and they got to draw their favourite animals. And cover everything they could touch in glitter. Seriously.
While half the group did art, the other half got to read a story together outside. And this adorable little guy just wanted to abscond with my camera. And probably get glitter on it.
When we were done telling stories and doing art - the kids showed us up with their soccer skills. It was a perfect first day.
